Q. What is the difference between faux stone and thin stone veneer?
A. Recent advancements in cutting technologies have started the introduction of natural stone thin veneers. This new technology is in response to the faux stone market that has embedded itself in the masonry market. Although the faux stone is a good product the new natural stone thin veneers are superior because it is real stone. No two pieces are alike, no fading occurs in sunny areas, cutting or chipping of the stone during installation reveals only stone not the lightweight concrete aggregate and installation cost is the same. Product cost is approximately 20% higher, however the stone is real and the benefits of real stone far outweigh the draw backs of faux stone.
