OUR MISSION

Our mission is to provide our customers with superior service. We strive to pay attention to the details from start to finish leaving no stone unturned.

STONE VENEER PROJECTS

Although our true love is to install full veneers of stone, recent advancements in cutting technologies have started the introduction of natural stone thin veneers. This new technology is in response to the faux stone market that has embedded itself in the masonry market. Although the faux stone is a good product the new natural stone thin veneers are superior because it is real stone. No two pieces are alike, no fading occurs in sunny areas, cutting or chipping of the stone during installation reveals only stone not the lightweight concrete aggregate and installation cost is the same. Product cost is approximately 20% higher, however the stone is real and the benefits of real stone far outweigh the draw backs of faux stone. Basically, you get what you pay for. We are proud to be able to offer stone from several companies that have moved into this market. Please visit the following web sites to pick your favorite stone for your next project. www.krukowskistone.com or www.nsvi.com Other companies are jumping into this market all the time. Simply do a search for natural stone thin veneers and surf away.

When doing full veneers with some types of stone we have developed an installation process that increases productivity and also improves the look of the finished stonework. This process is a variation of slip form technology. We are using Lexan panels as a form to aid in the hardest part of stonework. Making a stone stay in place while other stones are placed on top of them has long been the challenge of the mason when installing stone. This process is primarily used when installing river rock, field stone and any other type of random rubble stone work. Please click here to view a series of pictures showing this process.

FIREPLACE PROJECTS

With many recent changes in building codes and advances in fireplace technology we are proud to offer to build any type of fireplace that is on the market. We typically use 22 gauge stainless steel throats and flues hand insulated with foil faced ceramic wool. This product is lifetime guaranteed. It works better than traditional clay flues and firebrick throats, as they heat up faster and induce a better draft quicker.  These are a few of the options that are available for you to consider:

Zero clearance models

Probably the most inexpensive way for you to have a fireplace is to purchase one of the hundreds of styles of self contained units that utilize metal chimneys, wood framing around the unit and your favorite thin veneer stone adhered to the framing and metal lathe. This type of installation generally requires no foundation and can give the homeowner the look and feel of a traditional fireplace for a lot less money.

Traditional fireplaces - Many styles of fireboxes have been built through the years, however these have proven to be the most efficient.

Rumford style fireboxes - Long thought to be the ultimate fireplace for heating, the Rumford style fireplace utilizes a shallow firebox with sharply angled walls to reflect radiant heat into the room. These are available in hand built fire brick or in precast refractory fireboxes.

Rosin style fireboxes - Proven to be more efficient than the earlier developed Rumford style, this style utilizes a bell shaped back wall that reflects the heat into the room better than the Rumford style. These too are available in hand built firebrick or precast refractory fireboxes.

Masonry Heaters - Masonry heaters are the most efficient style of fireplace on the market today. They even out perform an EPA II wood stove. The technology is centuries old and has been used in Europe for many years. The homeowner is to be cautioned though as these are primarily heaters and not a fireplace you can sit in front of with your poker, poking at the logs and enjoying a slow burning fire. These fireplaces utilize a fast burning fire that is used to heat the surrounding masonry with a 2 or 3 hour fire then allowed to go out. The resulting effect is that hundreds of pounds of masonry are heated and slowly dissipate radiant heat for 12 to 18 hours. Two burns a day can viably heat a house as long as the house has an open design and the heater is centrally located. Many styles of masonry heaters are available.

  STONE LANDSCAPING PROJECTS

Stone is fast making a comeback over prefabricated concrete masonry units in the landscaping market. The use of dry stacked stone walls and stone paving creates a much more natural look and serene feeling than the hard scape products of the concrete masonry market.

We have engaged in many landscaping projects of late. With the use of 8" wide cut stone we have created dry stack retaining walls with incorporated geogrid, dry stack hand rails & piers and also used the dry stack method to encompass water gardens, waterfalls and fountains. Dry stack stone is available in an array of various shapes and contours. With the use of water and diamond cutting technologies, one can have boulders drilled to create the illusion of a natural spring bubbling from a stone, or have huge granite boulders cut into 7" thick slabs for dry stacked steps leading into your raised garden.

We also have created various patios and walkways with the use of stone pavers. Stone pavers are also available in various shapes and sizes. Whether you like the look of squares and rectangles arranged in a random ashlar pattern, odd shaped pieces used to create a mosaic pattern or cobble stone paving, Avery’s Custom Masonry, Inc. has the experience in both design and installation to create stunning gardens, patios and water features to enhance your properties natyral look and value. We work with various quarries to give you the colors, shapes and products you require to give your property that unique look you may have envisioned or use our design team to create one. Here is a list and links to some of the quarries we have worked with over the years.   STONE PAVING AND TILE PROJECTS

The installations of tile and stone paving have made several advances over the past few years. We are proud to have kept up with these advances to offer our customers the latest in waterproofing membranes for showers, saunas and second story porches; uncoupling membranes and expansion joints to reduce cracking on interior and exterior paving and edge profiles for that finished look. We generally use Schluter products for our stone paving and tile installations. Visit them at www.schluter.com.
